JAMMU, Apr 2: In the wake of Coronavirus pandemic, Oil Tank Drivers’ Union has urged oil companies to provide safety kits like masks, sanitizers and other safety gears to the drivers and others associated in carrying these supplies.
The Union has also demanded insurance cover for the drivers and cleaner engaged in carrying essential items in different parts of J&K.
In a handout, S. Harasis Singh, Union Spokesperson said even at many Police Check Points the tank and truck drivers are made to wait for hours for clearance and demanded special movement passes.
The Union members said that they are amongst a very few civilians who are also on the forefront in providing essentials but unfortunately their services are not recognized.
