SRINAGAR, Oct 20: The Vigilance Organization Kashmir has booked officers and officials of Irrigation and Flood Control Division, Handwara for executing substandard quality of flood protection work.
A case FIR has been registered against Wazir Mohd Kakroo (XEN), Bashir Ahmed Wasil (XEN), Mohd Sarwar Dar (XEN), Farooq Ahmed Sultanpuri (AEE), Bashir Ahmed Kakroo (AEE) and concerned JEs of I&FC Division, Handwara, who, under a well knit conspiracy with each other and in league with beneficiary contractors and others, have allegedly defrauded the State exchequer during execution of flood protection works in Kupwara district in the year 2009-10.
The omission and commissions on the part of these public servants constitute offences punishable under section 5(1) (d) read with 5(2) P C Act 2006 and 120-B RPC.
