Government has changed timings from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm w.e.f 1st May of all the educational institutions falling in Summer and Winter Zones of Poonch district. But it is very unfortunate that demand of the employees for change in their office timing has not been acceded to in Poonch district. Rajouri a neighbouring district of Poonch, was a part of Poonch District with its HQ at Poonch uptil 1975. The office timing of educational institutions as well as timing of other offices was observed from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm w.e.f 1st May till ending September every year. Moreover the geographical conditions of Rajouri district are similar to that of Poonch district in matter of temperature and other climate conditions. Employees of Poonch district were demanding change of their office timing from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm for all the offices w.e.f 1st May onwards like offices located in Rajouri District. It is pity that the authorities at the helm of affairs have paid no heed towards this just and genuine demand. Further most of our Government offices are located in the private buildings after the earthquake of 2005. Frequent cuts in electric supply during these scorching days has further deteriorated working capacities of the employees. Under these circumstances it is humbly suggested that the office timings of all the offices located in summer zones in Poonch district be changed henceforth.
