NSUI protests against ‘illegal’ recruitment process in JU

JAMMU, Dec 13: Demanding immediate discontinuation of ongoing recruitment process in Jammu University till the appointment of new Vice-Chancellor, NSUI activists held a strong protest demonstration, here today.
The protesting NSCUI activists accused the incumbent Vice Chancellor of patronizing ‘blue eyed’ candidates by ignoring merit and appealed the Lieutenant Governor, who happens to be Chancellor of the Jammu University to ensure discontinuation of recruitment process in the varsity till the appointment of new VC.

Agitating students blocked the university road in support of their demands and also torched an effigy of the Vice-Chancellor. They said that despite the end of the tenure of Prof Manoj Kumar Dhar, he continues to allegedly adjust his people on plum posts.
“Recently, the Lieutenant Governor has issued an order for the constitution of the Search Committee for the selection of new Vice Chancellor. Despite this fact, incumbent VC-Prof Manoj Dhar is hell bent to adjust his blue eyed,” said Sunny Parihar, State President NSUI, who led the agitation.
Others who addressed the protest demonstration, included Irshad Ahmed, Faheem Qazi, Sourav, Nipun Gandhi, Manas Gandhi, Harsh, Diyanshu, Aftab, Sahil Dogra , Sahil Saini and Rakshit.
