JAMMU, May 15: As the Vice-Chancellor purportedly refused to adopt one man post norm in the Jammu University, the agitating NSUI today called for complete boycott of classes from May 19.
The protesting NSUI activists, led by Choudhary Nasib Ali and Neeraj Kundan, today gheraoed the VC office and held a day-long protest dharna there. They raised slogans in support of their demand.
The Vice-Chancellor Prof M P S Ishar, who reached the office by evening, met the agitating NSUI activists but refused to concede the demand claiming that the issue was not concerned with the students.
Irked over the VC’s approach towards their demand, the NSUI activists announced to further intensify their ongoing struggle for one person one post norm in JU.
The career of several qualified students is associated with the issue and such words uttered by Vice Chancellor have hurt the sentiments of several youth, said Neeraj Kundan and announced total boycott of class from May 19 if a particular blue eye officer is not removed from multi posts by that time.
Those who took part in the protest, included Ajay Kumar, Kamal Magotra, Abhishek Dogra, Nitin Bakshi, Sehdev Singh Jamwal, Tushar, Gautam, Rishi, Taj and many others.
