UDHAMPUR, Dec 26: Expressing concern over the burning issues such as alleged shattered traffic management, poor water supply and increasing of drug abuse in Udhampur, former MLA and National Panthers Party (NPP) President, Balwant Singh Mankotia informed that NPP will start a door-to-door awareness campaign on above mentioned issues from Jan 1.
He also threatened gherao of Deputy Commissioner Office on Feb 1, 2019 over the alleged administration failure.
Mankotia told reporters that frequent traffic jams everyday at MH Chowk, Jakhani Chowk and peripheries like Rathian, Battal-Ballian, Tikri etc creates mess in the town.
He said that Jakhani Naka is mainly responsible for these jams and demanded its shifting.
He also demanded start of ‘Waste Management project’ for which funds have already been sanctioned.
On drug abuse and trafficking he said that youth is falling in trap of this dark world and added that it is time for the administration to wake up.
Mankotia also demanded that funds sanctioned for Devika River should be put under public domain so that no plundering in election days takes place.
