JAMMU, May 17: National Panthers Party’s chief patron, Prof Bhim Singh and Chairman Harshdev Singh and other senior members have framed a five member committee headed by Shanti Saroop Basotra, general secretary, to recommend candidates for Bani, Basohli and Billawar assembly constituencies. In a meeting of the NPP secretariat held today, the top leadership asked the new panel to recommend the names of the candidates within 15 days. Another committee to recommend candidates for Kathua and Hiranagar Assembly constituencies led by MLA Samba Yash Pal Kundal was also announced. The NPP leadership expressed regrets that the Government has deliberately ignored the plight of earthquake hit people in the erstwhile Doda district. A team of NPP led by MLA Balwant Singh Makotia, its president, was deputed for Doda area. He is accompanied by Sayed Rafiq Shah-MLC and others. The meeting was also attended by Daljit Singh, Sudershan Singh Jamwal, Anita Thakur, Faqir Nath, Yash Pal Kundal-MLA, Shanti Saroop, Jagdev Singh and Sayed Rafiq Shah.
