Nowshera accident: Salary of MS DH Rajouri withheld; inquiry ordered

RAJOURI, Apr 1:Taking strong note of yesterday’s incident of absence of doctors in emergency ward of district hospital Rajouri, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri has ordered withholding the salary of Medical Superintendent and has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
The issue erupted in the late evening hours yesterday when victims of accident that took place in Shahlukh shrine area of Nowshera were rushed to district hospital Rajouri for treatment but no doctor was available to treat the patients.
The attendants accompanying the injured raised hue and cry after news was also flashed on social media.
Taking note, Tehsildar Rajouri was rushed to the spot who reported that the injured were not getting proper treatment while there was no doctor available in hospital.
During inquiry it also came to fore that Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr. Suresh Gupta was absent from duty and out of station without any permission and no doctor duty roster was displayed.
It also came to fore that Dr. Sachin Vaid should have been present on duty but he was sent on leave by Medical Superintendent without making any replacement.
It was also found that one Dr. Jabeen Akhter who was present on duty between from 02 PM to 08 PM left the hospital without waiting for the reliever and informing the hospital administration.
Taking note of it, the salary of Medical Superintendent Dr. Suresh Gupta has been withheld till further orders.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad has also ordered to constitute an inquiry team comprising of SE Hydraulic Rajouri, Chief Medical Officer Rajouri  and Assistant Director Food Safety Department who will submit report for further disciplinary action within a period of seven days from the date of issue of the inquiry order.
