Notorious drug peddler held with heroin

JAMMU, Mar 11: Gangyal Police today arrested a notorious drug peddler with heroin.
“Today a routine naka was established at Greater Kailash naka point and one pedestrian who was coming from Forest Chowk towards Greater Kailash was asked to stop but he tried to flee from the spot”, a police official said.
“However, he was overpowered by the alert cops”, he said, adding, on his personal checking 11 grams of heroin was recovered from the spot. The accused identified as Manjot Singh son of Manjeet Singh, resident of Preet Nagar (Gangyal), Jammu, was arrested.
In this regard, a case FIR No 21/2018 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act, was registered at police station Gangyal. “More recoveries are expected as there is every possibility of involvement of more people. Moreover three cases under FIR No 224/16, FIR No 49/17 and FIR No 212/17 under Sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act at police station Gandhi Nagar, already stands registered against him”, the official said.
The arrest and recovery was made by Sub Inspector Nayat Ali, SHO, police station Gangyal and SI Vicky Thapa, Incharge, police post Greater Kailash, under the supervision of SDPO City South, Jammu, Rafiq Manhas and SP City South, Sandeep Choudhary.
