POONCH, Feb 22: A flying squad of Police Station Poonch, headed by ASI Tariq Khan arrested a drug peddler from Bus Stand area here and recovered some quantity of charas from his possession last evening.
Reports said that Police party got suspicion on one unknown person as he tried to escape on seeing police party. The active police team apprehended the said person near Shaheed Manjeet Singh Memorial.
During his personal search, nearly 20 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession. He was identified as Mohd Qasim, son of Mohd Sharief from Chela Dangri village of Tehsil Mandi in Poonch and at presently residing at W No.1 Sukha Katha, near Police Lines Poonch.
In this connection a case FIR No. 25/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act. has been registered at Police Station Poonch and the investigation has been taken up.
