DODA, May 11: Police here today said that a notorious bovine smuggler Yasir Hussain, son of Reham Ali resident of, Behani Sheriki at present village Runta, Bhaderwah has been detained under PSA for his involvement in number of bovine smuggling cases registered against him at Police Station Bhaderwah.
The smuggler was a habitual offender of bovine smuggling and on the dossier prepared by District Police Doda he was detained under PSA by the order issued by DM Doda as activities of the criminal were prejudicial to the public order.
He was lodged in District Jail Bhaderwah.
Doda Police under the supervision of SSP Doda, Abdul Qayoom has sought cooperation from the general public so that bovine smuggling, which is a serious issue and has potential to create law and order situation, is rooted out.
Doda Police has also warned the smugglers to desist from smuggling of bovines else stringent action as warranted under the law shall be taken against them which includes detention under PSA and attachment of property of habitual offenders of bovine smuggling.
