UDHAMPUR, July 7: On the directions of District Magistrate, Udhampur; Tehsildar Latti has initiated the recovery proceedings against Maqbool Hussain, the then Storekeeper, Latti, presently attached in Directorate FCS&CA Jammu, to recover the shortages of more than 2732 Qtls food grain amounting to Rs. 31,53,403.18 by issuing writ of demand for recovery as the arrears of Land Revenue.
The Storekeeper had committed shortages to the tune of more than 2732 Qtls food grain at Food-Store, Latti during his tenure.
The shortage has been pointed out by a Committee constituted by AD, FCSCA Udhampur after conducting physical verification of the Food Store Latti.
The Assistant Director, FCS&CA, Udhampur, issued a number of recovery notices to the Storekeeper, but he failed to remit the amount of outstanding shortages within the stipulated time period.
Afterwards, the AD FCS&CA requested Deputy Commissioner Udhampur to recover the due amount as arrears of Land Revenue vide letter no. AD/ FCS&CA/ UDH/23-24/518-520 dated 07-07-2023.
Taking cognizance of the report, the District Magistrate, Udhampur, has initiated the process of recovery by issuing notice to Maqbool Hussain, the then Storekeeper, Food-Store, Latti.
If the due amount of recovery is not deposited by the defaulter, his property shall be attached and auctioned to recover the due amount.
