‘Not proper to raise doubts on EVMs by political parties’: CEC

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora said that many elections have been held since 2014 and the results were different but the political parties continue to raise doubts on the EVMs and playing with the issue like a ‘football’.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, the Chief Election Commissioner said a committee comprising the professors, experts from IIT and public sector organisations were working for the fool-proof maintenance of EVMs.

He said that Commissioner Ashok Lavasa led team of Election Commission of India will conduct a two-day review on the Poll Preparedness in Andhra Pradesh on February 11 and 12.

The Commission met with representatives of various political parties and noted their concerns. The Commission reviewed the work of District Election Officers, Commissioner of Police/SPs, and discussed election preparedness with Chief Secretary, DGP and other officials. (AGENCIES)
