JAMMU, Mar 14: CTVS Division of JK Medicity Hospital Jammu organized a meeting of “Association of North Zone Cardio-Thoracic and Vascular Surgeons” here, in which 30 eminent cardiac surgeons of North India participated and shared their experiences.
Dr Gurjit Singh, Director CTVS, JK Medicity, organizing chairman of this meeting presented the welcome address.
The meeting was inaugurated by Dr HS Bedi, HoD CTVS CMC Ludhiana, president of the ANZCTVS.
Stressing the importance of holding such regional meetings, Dr Bedi said that these meetings are an important forum where surgeons can highlight their experiences and difficulties and can jointly try to find the solutions for the problems which ultimately benefit the patients of this region.
Many cardiac surgeons took part in the academic sessions held during the CME. There was an interactive session on presentation of challenging cases by the prominent faculty members which was very informative.
An important panel discussion was also held on patient safety and the problems faced in cardiac surgery with the aim to improve doctor – patient relationship.
Dr Baljeet Pathania, DHS Jammu, DC Raina, former Advocate General and Senior Cardiac surgeons from Rohtak, Ludhiana, Jallandhar and Jammu were the panelist in this discussion, which covered many aspects of this burning topic.
The meeting came to an end with Dr Gaganpreet Singh, MD JK Medicity presenting a vote of thanks.
