JAMMU, Mar 5: Non Gazetted Police Pensioners Welfare Forum today staged protest demonstration here at Press Club, to fulfil their long pending demands regarding pay anomalies and many others.
The protest was organised under the Chairmanship of Ajit Singh in which the retired police personnel were chanting slogans in favour of their demands.
Addressing the protestors, Ajit Singh said that as per the Government order No: 229-F of 2014 dated 17/10/2014 regarding pay anomaly, which effect have been given to the retirees since the year of 1996 when the 5th pay commission was implemented throughout state but it is only the Police department has denied the same, due to unknown reasons.
They demanded that free of cost medicine and treatment should be provided to the retired police personnel from the police hospitals besides reimbursement of medical bill, cashless health care policy at par other Paramilitary forces and Army.
In recruitment of police department and professional courses, 10 percent quota should be reserved for the police personnel children and CSD canteen facility should be provided at districts level, ambulance services should be provided by the concerned SSP to retiree police personnel for shifting in the state run hospitals.
“Promotion list of Head constable and ASI should taken out regularly so that the personnel nearing retirement will get the benefit. The employees who completed 10 years should be given promotion to the next rank, ” they asserted.
