No unmanned level crossings will remain on broad gauge in next few weeks, Piyush Goyal informs RS

NEW DELHI: Railways Minister Piyush Goyal said on Friday in the Rajya Sabha that in the next few weeks, the Indian Railways will be free from Unmanned Level Crossings (UMLCs) on Broad Gauge tracks across the country.

Replying to a question during the Question Hour, he said that only 28 level crossings were unmanned, of which bridges were under construction on 27 while one matter was under litigation.

Giving statistics, the Minister said that upto December 2018, 3451 UMLC were eliminated. There is a decreasing trend in the last few years,” he said. (AGENCIES)
