JAMMU, Feb 13: Minister for Higher Education, Mohd Akbar Lone today said that there was no separate quota for the local youths for employment in the Central University of Jammu.
Replying to the question of National Conference MLA from Vijaypur, Surjit Singh Slathia, Mr Lone said that no regular appointment of non-gazetted and Class-IV categories has been made by the Central University of Jammu.
He, however, said that 18 non-gazetted and 5 Class-IV have been engaged on deputation/contract basis and 7 non-gazetted, 8 Class-IV, 48 security personnel and 26 conservancy and housekeeping through outsourcing.
Expressing concern over the lack of separate quota for the local youths, Mr Slathia said, “this is a grave injustice particularly with those who have given their land for the university”, adding “the Government should ensure justice to such people”.
Justifying the demand of Mr Slathia, the Higher Education Minister assured the House that he will take up the issue with the University authorities.
