No positive outcome in meeting convened by CLC: AIBEA, BEFI to go ahead with strike today

HYDERABAD, Oct 21:All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) and Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) had decided to go ahead with the Nation-wide strike on Tuesday in the absence of any positive outcome in the meeting convened by Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Ministry of Labour Ranjan Verma in New Delhi on Monday.
AIBEA General Secretary Ch Venkatachalam and BEFI General Secretary Debasish Basu Chaudhury in a joint Circular to all units of AIBEA and BEFI said, In response to our Strike notice, the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Ministry of Labour, Government of India convened joint discussions and held a conciliation meeting in his office today.
Representatives of IBA and Finance Ministry/Department of Financial Services were present in the meeting.
IBA appealed to AIBEA and BEFI not to go ahead with the strike but could not come out to resolve any of the demands raised by them, they said.
From AIBEA, its Vice-President J P Sharma was present at the meet, AIBEA General Secretary Ch Venkatachalam told UNI.
We made a detailed written submission about the justification for the strike call, Mr Venkatachalam and Mr Basu said.
“In the absence of any positive outcome in the meeting, it has been decided to go ahead with the strike. Hence the call for strike stands”, the AIBEA and BEFI General Secretaries added.
We exhort all our unions and members all over the country to go ahead with the strike and make the it a stupendous success, they said.
Banking Operations will hit as about 3.5 lakh employees in AIBEA and BEFI will take part in the strike.
