In an advance admission awareness notice, issued today by the Directorate of Colleges, Higher Education Department, all undergraduate admissions across Government degree colleges in the Union Territory will be granted on the basis of 10+2 scores.
It said a centralised admission portal will be introduced for the process, through which students will be required to register and submit their applications. The portal link and registration details will be notified separately.
“Students will be required to submit their course and college preferences on the portal, and allotment will be made based on merit and preferences,” the notice said.
The department said the detailed admission schedule, including dates for registration, preference filling, allotment rounds and fee payment, will be notified separately.
Advising students and parents to prepare in advance, the department said candidates who have passed or appeared in the Class 12 examination from JKBOSE, CBSE or any recognised board are eligible to apply.
Pertinent to mention that 39 colleges in J&K were offering CUET based admissions last year.
