No BSNL service in Machhedi, Lohai-Malhar

BILLAWAR, Dec 29: The people from mountainous Machhedi and Lohai-Malhar area of  Billawar Sub Division in district Kathua area without BSNL services as the company never bothered to improve its services in this part of Jammu region.
There is no connectivity for the BSNL subscribers as after repeated calls hardly any contact is established by network users.  Over 25,000 to 30,000 population of this entire belt has been deprived of its services by the BSNL authorities. The people alleged that no sufficient towers have been raised by the BSNL company and even the landline link remains snapped for days together.  There is no question of internet facility at all.  While Machhedi is tehsil headquarters and Lohai-Malhar has been declared as full fledged Block, the people are still without proper communication facilities.
Sarpanch Machhedi Khushi Ram alleged that despite request to the higher authorities at Billawar several times, the communication system has not been improved in the area. The people of this area are mainly dependent on private companies like Airtel and Vodafone network. Even the SDM Billawar did not take much pains to pull up the BSNL authorities to improve its network in the area, he added.
