JAMMU, Jan 3: A delegation of National Movement for Old Pension Scheme (NMOPS) today met Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo for restoration of Old Pension Scheme (OPS).
The delegation led by State president of NMOPS, M Ashraf, and comprising of chief advisor Nitin Kalyan, advisor Mir Bashir Ahmad, UT coordinator M Ibrahim, district president Kathua Rafaqat Malik and district president Budgam Farooq Ahmad, and made a fervent plea for the restoration of OPS.
Flanked by his advisors, Ashraf emphasized the need for considering the implementation or extension of the family pension scheme to employees under the New Pension Scheme (NPS) until a final decision on the abolition of NPS and restoration of OPS is reached.
During the meeting, NMOPS president urged the Chief Secretary to inclusively consider employees appointed in 2009 but somehow joined in 2010, seeking equitable treatment for all members under the proposed changes.
The meeting, characterized by constructive dialogue, witnessed the Chief Secretary attentively listening to the delegation’s points and assuring thorough consideration of all aspects outlined in the memorandum.
As a symbol of their earnest appeal, the NMOPS delegation presented a memorandum to the Chief Secretary, expressing gratitude for his patient hearing and showing optimism that the pressing issue at hand would be resolved amicably.
