NMC urges Governor for amendment of SRO 520

JAMMU, July 3: Emphasizing on the need for amendment of SRO 520 to provide relief to the daily rated workers working in the various departments by exempting them from production of middle qualification certificates, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today appealed Governor to take decision in this regard in the ensuing meeting of the SAC which is going to be held in the summer capital of the State in Srinagar tomorrow.
“This is being pleaded because these daily rated workers have given their youth by way of facing  hardships in creating and providing infrastructure specially in Public Health Engineering, Irrigation & Flood Control and Power Development Departments”, NMC president, Subhash Shastri said while interacting with media persons here.
He said that these poor daily rated workers are without salary ranging from 20 to 40 months in the same cases and are badly starving to manage day to day expenses. Regarding furnishing of record, it is suggested that first and last voucher of their master sheets should be made the basic for easing out their process of formalities, he added.
Reiterating its demand for reviewing the earlier decision of the State Government regarding disbursement of 7th Pay Commission arrears in one go to the age group of 80 years and above, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) appealed Governor N N Vohra to extend the same facilities to all pensioners irrespective of any specified age group.
Shastri hoped that redressal of pay anomalies of clerical staff will also attract the attention of the Governor as they are struggling since long.
Others present on the occasion included Rajan Babu Khajuria, BS Jamwal, Jaipal Sharma, Ram Singh, Surinder Kumar, Bhupinder Singh, Ramesh Sharma, Swarn Bhagat, Subash Sharma, Tarsem, Suraj Parkash, Sukhdev Singh, Tarseem Sharma, Tilak Raj and Girdhari Lal.
