JAMMU, Feb 7: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) urged the newly appointed Chairman of the 7th Pay Commission to recommend sanction of 20 per cent interim relief in favour of Central and State Government employees and pensioners in its interim report.
In a memorandum sent to Retired Justice Ashok Mathur, Chairman of the Commission, president of NMC Subash Shastri urged him to start negotiations with representatives of associations, unions and federations of Central Government employees and pensioners so that report could be submitted within stipulated period.
Pleading the cause of both Central and State Governments employees and pensioners, Shastri appealed the Commission to suggest for early merger of 50 per cent of present DA being paid to employees and pensioners, with the basic pay as recommended by the earlier pay commission. Delay in merger of DA will create financial problems of the salaried class, he added.
“Pay visit to all states of the country to obtain views of Government employees and pensioners organizations”, he added.
Shastri urged the Chairman of the Commission to formulate National Pay Policy for both Central and State Government employees and pensioners.
