JAMMU, Jan 10: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today expressed hope that the budget for the year 2017-18, to be presented by the Finance Minister in the legislative Assembly tomorrow will be employees-friendly and contain all the ingredients for over all development of State.
Hoping that the Finance Minister’s budget document will give an overall fillip to process of development in the State and improving condition of working class, NMC president, Subhash Shastri while talking to media persons here today said that Finance Minister’s assurance regarding regularization of daily rated workers will come through his budget speech.
“Similarly, provision for implementation of 7th Pay Commission will adequate be kept in the budget proposals”, he said, adding, states reeling under financial crunch like Uttarakhand, UP, Manipur, Punjab, Haryana and others have already announced implementation of the same and we hope that J&K will also get benefitted by the same.
Shastri further said that since the Centre has liberally funded the State, prolonging the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission will have dangerous consequences. He hoped that a comprehensive policy will also be announced in budget for regularizing the services of 61, 000 daily rated workers in one go, so that working class could get sigh of relief.
