Addressing a well attended workers’ meet here, NMC president, Subhash Shastri, urged Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to immediately direct the concerned to remove any ambiguity on the issue by issuing relevant SRO/notification immediately before the Civil Secretariat shift to summer capital Srinagar.
“Civil Secretariat employees should be paid the salaries for April 2018 in advance at Jammu before the April 27, which is the time for establishment to move to Srinagar,” he said.
Shastri also urged CM to make amendments in the SRO-520, including provision of wages of need base, casual and seasonal laborers who have been included and uploaded through biometric identification in 61,000 workers list but not being paid against any wages head in routine.
He said that proper amendments in SRO 520 should be incorporated so that cumbersome verification process should not be a cause of inconvenience for these daily rated workers. He appealed CM to reconsider the policy and release the pending wages of need based and other workers immediately.
