NMC demands release of pending DA

JAMMU, May 7: Expressing concern over the delay in release of DA installment, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) president, Subash Shastri today appealed J&K LG and Chief Secretary to release the pending installment of 4 per cent DA due from January this year in favour of J&K employees and pensioners as approval regarding the same has been given by the Election Commission of India.
Addressing a meeting of NMC activists Shastri said that DA is part of salary and routine financial matters and there should be no hitch in releasing it.
He also demanded exemption of DA from Income Tax. Shastri also demanded separate wage head for regular disbursement of monthly salary to daily rated workers till their regularization, enhancement of their wages to Rs. 600 per day, regularizing their services under SRO 64, setting up of Labour Welfare Board, implementation of all Central laws in J&K besides granting Medical Allowance to pensioners to the tune of Rs. 1000 per month at par with Central Government pensioners and releasing 18 per cent DA arrears to employees working in both Central/J&K Governments.
Among others present on the occasion were Sahib Khajuria, general secretary NMC; Raman Sharma, Birbal, Ram Singh, Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Surinder Kumar, Ramesh Sharma, Chaman Lal, Vinod Kumar, Ex-Sarpanch Sukhdev Singh, Mohammad Sadiq, Mushtaq Ahmed, Tarsem Sharma and J.P Sharma.
