NMC demands release of 11 pc DA

JAMMU, July 18: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) on Sunday appealed J&K LG to release 11 per cent DA for J&K employees and pensioners as the same has already been released by the Union Government to its employees and pensioners.
“DA is part of salary and routine financial matter and as such there should be no hitch in releasing it,” NMC president Subash Shastri said while addressing a meeting here.
On decision of Union government in releasing 11 per cent DA, Shastri hoped that this much needed decision of the government would alleviate the financial sufferings of employees and pensioners caused by the COVID crisis.
He also demanded exemption of DA from the ambit of income tax as it is linked with price index.
The NMC leader further demanded separate wage head for regularly disbursement of monthly salary of daily rated workers till their regularization, enhancement of their wages to Rs. 600/day, regularizing their services under SRO 64, setting up of Labour Welfare Board, implementation of all Central laws in J&K besides granting medical allowance to pensioners at Rs. 1000/ month at par with Union government.
Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Surinder Kumar, Ramesh Sharma, Sarpanch Sukhdev Singh, Mohd Sadiq, Mushtaq Ahmed, Tarsem Sharma and J.P Sharma were also present in the meeting.
