JAMMU: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, in presence of Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta and Union Minister of State DONER (Ind. Charge), Dr Jitendra Singh, initiated “Swachhta Hi Sewa” campaign at Dogra Chowk here today.
Minister of State for Tourism Priya Sethi, Members of Parliament Shamsher Singh Manhas and Jugal Kishore Sharma, Vice-Chairmen of various Boards and Corporations, Legislators Ashok Khajuria, Ramesh Arora, Vibodh Gupta, Charanjeet Singh Khalsa,Vikram Randhawa, Shakti Raj Parihar, Dalip Singh Parihar, Rajesh Gupta, Sat Sharma and Dr Krishan Lal besides members of the civil society, political leaders participated in the campaign.
The dignitaries also paid tribute to Pt Prem Nath Dogra by launching “Swachhta Hi Sewa” under Swachh Bharat Mission.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nirmal Singh stressed that these efforts should not only be symbolic and we all should implement the Swachhta Abhiyaan in letter and spirit and make consistent efforts each day to make India Clean by 2019. He emphasized the need to motivate people regarding the importance of cleanliness and sanitation of their surroundings. He also asked for volunteer contribution towards cleaning of their residential areas, neighborhood and public utilities.
Among others officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation, police and civil administration were also present on the occasion.
