SRINAGAR : Night temperature witnessed a considerable improvement though it was still sub-zero in the Kashmir valley and Ladakh region, where the weather will remain dry during the next 48 hours, the Met office said here today.

Improvement in the minimum temperature was recorded due to cloudy sky during the night, Met department spokesperson said.

Weather will turn wet in the Kashmir valley from December 8 when there is possibility of isolated rain while scattered rain is predicted in Jammu region on December 9 and Ladakh region from December 10, he said.

Though the minimum temperature recorded improvement, it was still sub-zero in the valley while there was considerable improvement in Ladakh region.

After witnessing some respite from cold in night,  people in the valley woke up to a cloudy and chilly morning.

Kupwara, where security forces are still searching for militants hiding in dense forests, was coldest in the Kashmir valley after the minimum temperature settled at minus 0.8 degree Celsius. It was a slightly above yesterday’s temperature which had recorded minus 2 degrees. (AGENCIES)
