Nickel, copper slide, hurt by lower industrial offtake

NEW DELHI, July 11:  Prices of nickel and copper fell Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today owing to slack demand from consuming industries amid a weak global trend.
Traders said reduced offtake by consuming industries in the wake of weakening global trend mainly led to decline in nickel and copper prices.
In the national capital, nickel plate (4×4) and copper mixed scrap were down Rs 2 each to Rs 975-980 and Rs 400 per kg, respectively.
Following are today’s metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 114-120, Nickel plate (4×4) Rs 975-980, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 400, Chadri deshi Rs 285.
Lead ingot Rs 108, Lead imported Rs 109, Aluminium ingots Rs 156, Aluminium sheet cutting Rs 157, Aluminium wire scrap Rs 159 and Aluminium utensils scrap Rs 156. (PTI)
