Niaz demands relief for victims

BHADERWAH, Mar 16: Former minister and member of All India Congress Committee Mohd Sharief Niaz has said that due the last two months continuous devastating snow fall and heavy rains, land slides have occurred in Chenab belt.
He said most terrible slide occurred at village Bhathri in Tehsil Kahra in which about twenty shops were buried under the slide. Goods worth crores of rupees have totally been destroyed. Niaz demanded that ex-gratia relief under the Disaster Scheme be sanctioned as per actual losses of shopkeepers.
Besides property of public of Tensa village Panchayat Dhadkai Tehsil Bhalessa (S/T) Basti,Tantly and Inharra in block Changa, Rishu Mohlla, Chanti Tatora in Tehsil Bhalla and so many other places in the region have been damaged due to heavy snow fall and rains. He said hundreds of residential houses have fully/partially damaged. Crops of the farmers have also been affected. He demanded ex- gratia relief in favour of all affected families.
