UDHAMPUR, Mar 16: An elderly man was crushed to death by a rashly driven vehicle on the National Highway near Mand, here today.
The deceased was identified as Sai (75), son of Cherag Din of Ladori, Tehsil Katra.
The accident took place when the rashly driven CRPF vehicle hit the pedestrian, who was crossing the road near Mand around 11.10 am. The victim reportedly died on the spot. On getting information, SHO Rehambal, Inspector Ajay Bhat rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body to District Hospital Udhampur for postmortem.
Police also seized the CRPF vehicle and arrested driver on the spot. A case in this connection has been registered at Rehambal Police Station.
