Srinagar, Oct 7: Senior officers of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) today went to Handwara to investigate the attack on an Army Camp in Langate area of Kupwara district.
The Senior officers of the NIA today went to Handwara and collected details from the police regarding the gun battle in which three militants were killed after army foiled an attack on their Battalion headquarter at Langate yesterday.
Police have already registered a case and are investigating the matter. However, the case will now be taken up by the NIA from the police.
The NIA is visiting the spot tomorrow and will collect the samples and take the possession of the recoveries made by the security forces from dead militants. The NIA will also take DNA samples of the militants as well.
This is the second case that the NIA will be investigating after last month’s Uri attack in which 18 Army personnel were killed by four Fidayeen who were later gunned down.
