Bani, Mar 9: NHPC’s Sewa II Power Station’s Chief Engineer, Bikram Singh, today distributed scholarships to the students of Govt. Senior Secondary School Bani in the presence of senior officers, School Principal & staff members.
Meritorious & deserving students from economically weaker sections of the society were awarded the scholarships. During the current financial year, more than 50 students studying in 14 different Government schools located in and around the Power Station & Dam site areas of the project were chosen for the award of such scholarships worth Rs. 4 lakh.
NHPC under its Corporate Social Responsibility Program has been organising various social welfare schemes for the benefit of people living in its vicinity. Grant of Scholarships, Infrastructure Development, Distribution of School dresses, furniture, books, etc. forms an integral part of the CSR initiatives in the education sector. Apart from that various healthcare programmes as well as supplementing of various govt. sponsored schemes in the field of rural development are also being taken up for the welfare of local people.
