Project Director, Ramban sector of National Highway Authority of India, Parshotam Phonsa, when contacted, said that highway is likely to be restored by tomorrow noon. He said there is marshy land in between the damaged road patch and sinking gradually. It is creating problem for machines operating there. Moreover, the locals of the area whose houses have been damaged again came out on the road today and disrupted work for about three hours.
Later, the DC and SSP Ramban reached the site and they again talked to the protesting people and pacified them. The work was resumed thereafter, during the day today. He hoped that about 8-10 hours work is remaining and about ten machines have been pressed into service. There is lot of pressure on the NHAI to restore the road, he added.
