JAMMU, Feb 6: NGK Spark Plugs India Private Limited has launched new range of BS-6 Ready and BS-6 compliant spark plugs and glow plugs for petrol and diesel vehicles accordingly.
As per official spokesman, NGK Group considers the Indian market as one of the most important markets in its medium term business plans. He added that the company has invested nearly Rs 100 crores in setting up an additional oxygen sensor division in its Bawal Plant to strengthen production capability of automotive components.
“NGK Group aims to optimize its global production efficiency along with this enhancement of production capability in India. In the new division, NGK India will produce high quality oxygen sensors for 2-wheeler vehicles. Oxygen sensor is an instrument for controlling the exhaust emission of petrol, diesel and gas engines”, the spokesman added.
He informed that NGK India plans to introduce multiple products in 2020, along with spark plugs, in order to enhance its product range for its customers, adding that the products to be launched will be of international standards giving Indian customer value for money and contributing in saving the environment in its own way.
“From April 2020, Indian market will see sales of BS-6 compliant vehicles. The new BS-6 emission control standards being introduced in India will need widespread measures in terms of emission control, automotive electronics, fuel-grade and ECU changes. The standards of the BS-6 stage will call for a drastic change in the technology adopted by the Indian vehicle manufacturers”, company spokesman added.
