NEW DELHI, Jan 6: Newly appointed Advisor to the Union Territory Government of Jammu & Kashmir, Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar today paid a courtesy call to Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh, before he prepares to leave for the winter capital Jammu to take over his new assignment.
Bhatnagar conveyed his thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and the Modi Government for having reposed confidence in him and entrusted him with a very important responsibility at a very crucial time. He assured Dr Jitendra Singh that he would perform to the best of his ability and would always look forward to guidance and advice from the central leadership.
While wishing Bhatnagar a fruitful innings in the newly created Union Territory, Dr Jitendra Singh said, he had seen Bhatnagar working from close quarters, both in North East as well as in Jammu & Kashmir. He said, Bhatnagar had been in regular touch during his tenure as Director General, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and had been able to provide a successful and result-oriented leadership to the Security Force under his command.
With Bhatnagar’s long experience of having dealt with Jammu & Kashmir, Dr Jitendra Singh hoped that this experience will come handy and yield dividends at a time when Jammu & Kashmir is going through the most historic transition of the last several decades. On the one hand, he said, it is a new Union Territory evolving with each passing day and on the other hand, after the abrogation of Article 370, the entire territory is going through a phase of implementation of Central Laws and Acts which had been deprived for the last 72 years.
