JAMMU, Jan 6: Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Member of Parliament, Ladakh today met Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan here.
Namgyal discussed with the Lt Governor a range of issues related to the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh including rationalization of staff in Government run departments, division of assets and transfer of staff hailing from Ladakh and currently deputed in Medical Department in J&K.
Namgyal requested the Lt Governor for the continuation of the reservation of students from ST Category belonging to Ladakh in educational institutions across J&K.
The Lt Governor and Namgyal also discussed about the developmental aspirations of people of the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and various other issues relating to public welfare.
Swami Nirantarananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Jammu accompanied by Suresh Kumar Sharma, former Member, J&K Public Service Commission also met Lieutenant Governor.
They briefed the Lt Governor about the various charitable activities being carried out by the Mission in the field of spiritual, educational, medical, cultural and other philanthropic services for the welfare of the people.
The Lt Governor interacted with the Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Jammu and the former Member, J&K PSC and urged them to continue their sustained efforts towards promoting public welfare.
Ram Kishore Meena, President, ST Morcha BJP Rajasthan also met Lieutenant Governor and discussed about various measures undertaken by the Government towards promoting and preserving the welfare of Scheduled Tribes Community in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Meena also shared with the Lt Governor his views pertaining to the prevailing scenario in Jammu and Kashmir.
