KATRA, Jan 6: Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Ramesh Kumar undertook a holistic review of the pilgrim-centric facilities at a meeting of the Area/Unit Heads of the Shrine Board here today.
These arrangements included water and power supply, sanitation, catering, medicare facilities, pre-paid system for hiring of ponies, pithoos and palkis, locker facilities, besides various ongoing development works aimed at enlarging infrastructural facilities and logistics for meeting the emerging requirements of the pilgrimage.
CEO while reviewing status of various upcoming projects of the Board, impressed upon all the concerned officers and engineers that high priority needs to be laid to ensure speedy implementation of the infrastructure facilities right from Katra to Bhawan for facilitating the pilgrims. During review of the functioning of the pre-paid system for hiring of Ponies, Pithoos and Palkis, he stressed that, wherever required, the system should be further streamlined to increasingly facilitate the visiting pilgrims.
Referring to the ongoing winter season, the CEO said that, if needed, blanket stores should be further replenished and provision of more Sagris be made on the track. He asked all the officers, engineers and Area/Unit Heads of the Board to take stock of the arrangements in their respective areas of responsibility on daily basis so that the yatris are provided the best possible arrangements. The CEO said that he will be on-spot monitoring yatra facilities and holding review meetings with the concerned Area/Unit Heads, engineers and other staff at various locations on the track as well as in the Bhawan area on weekly basis.
Among those who participated in the meeting included Vivek Verma, Additional CEO; Hem Kant Prasher, Chief Accounts Officer; Dr Arvind Karwani, Deepak Dubey and Dr Jagdish Mehra, Dy CEOs and other concerned officers of the Board.
