JAMMU, Apr 30: Construction of new Tube well by “Jal Shakti” Ground Water Department will resolve the water supply problem in Talab Tillo and adjoining areas, stated BJP senior leader and former JMC councilor, Sanjay Kumar Baru during a daylong tour of the area along with Shakti Kender Parmukh, Bubesh Sharma and booth president, Lokesh Bhagat at Anand Nagar, Bohri in Jammu West constituency.
He also listened the grievances of the local residents during his tour.
Local residents apprised him that due to the onset of the Summer season and unscheduled power cuts, the water supply in Anand Nagar, Surya Vihar, Hazuri Bagh and adjoining areas is affected and people are facing many problems. Local residents also requested that the lanes and drains constructed during his tenure as a councillor have been damaged due to heavy rains and furthermore, black topping, paver tiles done recently in various lanes, have been affected due to the ongoing sewerage work being carried out in the ward by the UEED of Jammu Municipal Corporation.
After listening to the problems of the people, Sanjay Baru apprised them that during his term as councillor, he had already proposed for construction of a new tube well in the Hazuri Bagh area, which was delayed due to lack of funds.
Baru expressed his gratitude to the MLA Jammu West, Arvind Gupta for his intervention and taking cognizance of this matter and summoning the Jal Shakti Department to the proposed site and directed them to start the work of construction of new tube well. Following which Department has prepared a fresh Detailed Project Report (DPR) and ensured that the work on this project is expected to start very soon after the technical sanction. This project will surely resolve the water scarcity issues in Talab Tillo especially in Wards 40 and 41 in the days to come.
Baru also assured the residents that the problems due to ongoing sewerage project would be resolved soon as the connection of pipes with household is being executed on fast mode.
