JAMMU, July 14: The office bearers of newly elected District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) Jammu took over the charge of the Gurdwara affairs from the Divisional Commissioner, Pawan Kotwal here today.
The newly elected office bearers of the DGPC Jammu resolved to work with full dedication and sincerity for the cause of Sikh community. They said that committee has unanimously appointed Jathedar Mohinder Singh senior most member of the DGPC Jammu and senior SAD (B) leader  as patron of DGPC Jammu for better guidance and coordination among various religious and other Sikh organizations of Jammu.
Immediately after taking over the charge, the new committee in a special meeting held under the leadership of Jagjit Singh  president DGPC Jammu, various burning issues of  Gurdwara management  and ways to implement the manifesto were discussed in  detail. It was unanimously resolved that supremacy  of Shri Guru Granth Sahib, Sri Akal Takhat Sahib  and its uniform `Rehat Maryada’ and unity of Sikh community will be protected and implemented at all costs.
General secretary of the DGPC, Harjinder Singh Raina disclosed that different committees of preachers, youth and intellectuals will be formed to create progressive and transparent environment in the affairs of DGPC Jammu       so that better projects and positive initiatives are launched. Other office bearers and members were also present on the occasion.
