POONCH, May 7: A new born male baby was found abandoned in District Hospital, Poonch early today.

A police spokesman said that as per Hospital Superintendent , a young woman along with two attendants arrived in the hospital at around 10 pm as deliver case. She was operated upon after half an hour and she delivered a male baby. But during early morning, the infant was found abandoned on the hospital bed. After inquiries, it was found that the mother of the baby had given wrong address and contact number.
The matter was reported to Poonch police which registered a case and started investigation. The baby was later handed over to an NGO. Further investigation was in progress. The police was looking for the Tata Sumo and its driver which dropped the mother and other relatives of the woman at Poonch hospital.
