Sir,
Except for a very brief period when the state owned later an undertaking of the state government, the State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) it has remained neglected and is continuously showing losses. We have witnessed employees’ long stunt strikes when they complained of having not been paid salaries for months together. Many employees opted for and were granted the VRS. Still the corporation is showing losses. The fact of the matter is that it has been ravaged by corruption at every level with the result that it was showing negligible revenues. The fact is this also that this corporation has the record of least rather rare accidental rate on roads . That means its drivers are efficient and caring. Why most of the buses are not repaired in time and grounded but not plied causing losses and threatening the bread and butter of its employees? Let the top management and the employees jointly along with the state government initiate corrective measures so that it survives and does not collapse.
Yours etc….
