JAMMU, Dec 2: Calling for ease in hardships faced by beneficiaries to apply in Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS), Aam Aadmi Party’s senior leader and state spokesperson T S Tony today called for aggresive clearance of pendency of different departments where applications have been submitted for necessary formalities by the beneficiaries.
Addressing a press conference, here today, T S Tony hit hard at Jammu and Kashmir Government for rolling out ISSS without ground work putting aged people, widows, transgenders and specially abled people in a situation of distress as they have to run from pillar to post to get form completed with necessary formalities.
“ISSS has been rolled out without any ground work and now Jammu and Kashmir Government has put poor people in distress after doing same with Government employees and common masses who have been cornered due to anti people policies and dictatorial attitude of bureaucratic setup,” he said.
He further mentioned that there is a bunch of formalities that one beneficiary has to collect before submission of application for benefit under ISSS. “Beneficiaries of this scheme are poor people and Government should have put in place proper mechanism before this scheme and especially field machinery should have been tasked to clear the applications for formalities in a time bound manner so that a poor man do not suffer but things are in hardship mode due to poor approach of Government, ” AAP leader said.
While welcoming the decision to include affidavit by Executive Magistrate alongwith Judicial Magistrate affidavit, Tony said that there is need to gear up the machinery of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department as well as of Revenue Department where people are applying for issuance of new ration cards under PHH category and domiciles respectively. He said that similar directions should also be issued to FCS&CA for issuing updated ration card with PHH, AAY marking as it is an important formality for beneficiaries but is taking time due to poor operationalisation of respective website of department and lack of adequate manpower in Tehsil Supply Offices.
The AAP leader stressed that Government should hold special camps to clear the pendency besides boosting the performance of district medical boards of health departments where people apply for issuance of medical certificates.
