JAMMU, Oct 20: Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) here today organised an online multilingual poetic meet wherein poets of Dogri, Punjabi, Urdu and Hindi recited their poems, Gazals, lyrics and devotional songs.
A handout of NDS stated that the event was dominated by women in which nine poetesses and three poets recited their poetry on social evils, romance, environment and current social trends.
Shambu Ram ‘Pyasa’, renowned Dogri Poet presided over the event while general secretary of NDS, Yash Pal Yash, also a renowned poet and Music Director compeered the programme and critically evaluated each and every item read on the occasion.
Dogra Harish Kaila, president NDS and Lalit Sharma, convener NDS supervised the e-multilingual Kavi Goshti.
Neelam Verma Mehotra read her Dogri poems like ‘Jad Bhi Ayoon Koyee Kavita Likhdee’ while poems recited by Kalpana Gupta included ‘Charitarheen’.
Sudarshan Kumari presented Dogri Gazal ‘Jis Tan Lagge So Tan Jane’.
Amarjeet Kaur read Punjabi Gazal ‘Samander Mera Naseeb See, Mera Dubbna Bhi Azeeb See’ while Neelam Sharma recited Hindi poem ‘Bharat Maa Hai Ro Rahi, Khoon Ki Holi Ho Rahi’.
Among Dogri Poems read by Usha Kiran were ‘Ai Duggar Kinna Khas Hai’ and Sabita Sharma read her Hindi poem ‘Pedd Hamare Mitter Hain Piare.’
Kusam Sharma recited Urdu Gazal ‘Teri Har Chal Se Ham Bhi Waqif Hain Abb, Abb Na Hamdardian Ham Se Kar Zindgee.’
Dr. Poonam Sharma presented a devotional song while Balwan Singh Jamwal read his Dogri poem ‘Viyog’.
K.D Koul Mehboob’s Hindi poem was ‘Jine Ki Umang Hai’ and Shambu Ram also recited his poem.
