NCB arrests drug peddler, recovers around 13 kgs cannabis

JAMMU, Sept 26: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Zonal Unit Jammu apprehended a drug peddler and recovered around 13 kilograms of cannabis.
As per official spokesman, the sleuths of NCB Zonal Unit Jammu arrested a drug peddler along with 12.568 kilograms of cannabis, which was concealed in a bag near Railway Station Jammu.
The arrested person has been identified as Bhagwandeen, son of Bhadai Prasad, a resident of village Malari, district Gonda, Uttar Pradesh.
During investigation, it came to fore that the accused had brought the consignment from Kashmir and was taking it to Mumbai. This is the fifth seizure of cannabis by NCB Zonal Unit Jammu during this year, he added.
The accused was produced in the Court and later lodged in the District Jail Jammu for judicial custody.
It is pertinent to mention here that NCB Zonal Unit Jammu has got success not only in affecting seizures but also got substantive linkages between the Kashmir Valley-Mumbai-Ahmedabad based drug traffickers.
The spokesman said that as per the inputs being received and as revealed from the interrogation of the arrestees, a huge quantity of cannabis and other contraband are being trafficked to other parts of the country from Kashmir and all the means of transport like light vehicle, taxis, trains and trucks are being used for this purpose.
