NC worker shot dead

SRINAGAR, Aug 25:  Militants tonight shot dead a National Conference worker in South Kashmir’s Awantipora area.
Reports said that militants fired at Javed Ahmad Khan, 30, son of Mohammad Rajab Khan resident of Khanday Pora Awantipora outside his house at around 9.30 pm.
Khan had gone to wash room in the compound of his house and as he came out he was fired at indiscriminately killing him on the spot.
The NC worker was rushed to hospital where he was declared as brought dead. The militants fled away under the cover of darkness.
Police and Army reached the spot and massive hunt has been launched to trace out the militants responsible for the killing.
Khan was arrested by Army in March 2010 from Chandrigam Tral  and was released after two years in 2013. One pistol, a grenade and six round  were recovered from him.
His house was fired at by militants in 2014. However, he escaped unhurt. He was presently working as lecturer on contractual basis at  Guru Nanak B Ed College, Awantipora.
