NC terms PDP’s protest as farce

Excelsior Correspondent
Srinagar, Jan 18: National Conference today hit at PDP calling their protest as farce to gain ‘cheap publicity’ and ‘hoodwink people’.
Political Secretary to Omar Abdullah, Tanvir Sadiq in a statement said that Kundal Committee report exposed many skeletons in the closet which involved PDP leaders.
Ridiculing the PDP about corruption Tanvir said, “it’s amusing to see PDP protesting with some handful of people and shouting slogans about corruption while as their own law makers were involved in a major fraud while they were in  service”
“It’s an irony that a person they themselves file a case against in their regime becomes a saint overnight when he joins them. The height is that they reward him by making him a lawmaker,” he said adding “Today land grabbers and scamsters are hallmarks of this party”.
“They shamelessly talk about corruption but forget that their own ministers were involved in corruption” said Tanvir’ adding “the PDP should explain how their leaders made fortunes. Let people compare their leader’s assets in 1975-76 to now in 2013”.
Stating that Omar Government not only constituted independent institutions to keep vigil on government functioning but gave teeth to the defunct ones the political secretary said that people are empowered to bring the corrupt to the book and help in bringing transparency in the functioning of the Government besides making people legally empowered to demand public services delivery in a time bound manner.
