JAJJARKOTLI, Feb 4: Asserting that National Conference is poised to give a stable and responsive Government to Jammu and Kashmir, Provincial President Devender Singh Rana today said the people are longing for a dispensation that delivers on ground zero.
“The misrule of the PDP and BJP Government has firmed up peoples’ resolve to have a single party dispensation”, Rana said while addressing workers at Suketar and Jajjarkotli in Nagrota Assembly Constituency, adding that prevailing public mood across the State is indicator of National Conference being the only choice, given its track record of serving the state.
Respecting wishes of the people, who are real fountain head of power, the National Conference is going alone to contest the ensuing elections, he said adding that coalition culture is detrimental to the interests of the State. He said realization has dawned upon the people about negative fallout of a fractured mandate, which generally impedes the process of development and implementation of various welfare measures.
He said overwhelming goodwill for National Conference is acknowledgement of the people to the good work done from time to time during various spells of its governance. Since the party is deeply connected to the people, it alone can realize their political, economic and developmental aspirations. He said his party is committed to equitable development of all the three regions and their sub-regions.
At Jajjarkotli several prominent political activists joined National Conference in presence of Rana. They include Ajit Kumar Thappa, PDP Block President Dansal along with his supporters.
Welcoming the new entrants, Rana hoped that they will work for strengthening bonds of amity and brotherhood among various segments of the society, which has been the cherished mission National Conference. He gave an overview of the sacrifices made by the party to safeguard the distinct identity and singular entity of the State, a mix of different faiths and cultures. “Unity in diversity makes Jammu and Kashmir a unique State and this spirit has to be maintained at all costs”, he added.
The Provincial President exhorted the cadre to further intensify their mass outreach programme, identify problems of the people and seek their redressal.
