NC pays tributes to Mahasha Vir Chand

JAMMU,  June 1:  National Conference leaders paid floral tributes to former MLA and veteran  NC leader Mahasha Vir Chand in a function held in Bari Brahamana area today.
Additional general secretary of J&K National Conference Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal, accompanied by former Ministers SS Slathia and Ajay Sadhotra  besides others attended the  function held at Badhori in Samba district, in connection with the Ist  death anniversary of  Vir Chand,  a veteran NC leader.
Dr Kamaal while paying rich tributes to late Vir Chand Mahasha  said that he was a thorough  gentleman and served his people tirelessly up to his last breath and will be remembered for a long time to come. He remained steadfast and committed to National Conference  from the time he joined the party in late eightees.
He cautioned the people to thwart the nefarious designs of the enemies  of National Conference who are hell bent to divide  the society  on lines of region, language or religion.  He asked them to preserve the unity  and brotherhood. It was the blood and sweat of the stalwarts of  National Conference under its tallest  leader late Sheikh Mohd Abdullah that liberated  them from the clutches of the oppressors.This has opened all opportunities for the backward and oppressed classes.  He also appealed to the young generation of Dalits  not to neglect their education.
Surjeet Singh Slathia and Ajay Kumar Sadhotra- former Ministers also paid rich tributes to  Vir Chand Mahasha and addressed the gathering.   Rattan Lal Gupta, State vice president  in his address said that Vir Chand Mahasha was a “Karam Yogi” as his entire life was spent in National Conference selfless service to people.
Kishen Dutt and Mahohar Lal besides other members of  Vir Chand’s  family also were present on the occasion.
Among others present on the occasion included Pardeep Bali, Abdul Gani Teli,  Satwant Kour Dogra – provincial president women wing Jammu, Dev Raj Kapoor, Vijay Lochan, Rashid Mohd- Sarpanch, Sushil Sudan and Som Raj Taroch.
